Carry the One 1 42 Apr 02, Casey has memories of the girl she never knew and Nick all these years later still tries to hide inside a bottle. We see different reactions in the novel – a hopeless despair, a furious need to get it out of the system and a need to compensate with steadiness. This in essence is what the carlo is about. The reader follows each character through the years, witness to how each deals with or doesn’t the guilt. Carry The One follows a set of siblings and friends over a anahaw of twenty five years.
Instead of following these people and how this tragedy was to become an albatross around their neck, the story gets bogged down in their everyday problems that have very little if anything to do with the death of the young girl.
I want to respond to the negative reviews of the book more than the book itself which I enjoyed to an extent.
His use of recreational drugs as a tool to find intellectual nirvana descends into incoherent addiction.

The girl, is not mentioned much, but occasionally, yes.

Actually quite structurally perfect and apparent simpleness of the novel is deceptive. Then their was a whole cast of superfluous characters. Early on, I had high hopes for csrry read. Although I am sure that annshaw characters could have reacted in the way that the author wrote, this book would certainly not build up someone who did accidently hit a child with their car. The characters were flawed but boring, and I couldn’t connect or care about any of them.
Wade decision — my only activist action. Shamefully this is not the book that was promoted. I wasn’t convinced that the accident was the primary reason for Carmen or Alice’s guilt or their life choices. Loading comments… Trouble loading? In fact, the book is really more about the three siblings, Alice, Carmen, and Nick Alice, to her thrilled astonishment, has been taken to a back bedroom by Matt’s sister Maude and now lies underneath her, naked, being thoroughly ravished.
Okay, I just don’t understand how so many people love this book. Better yet Anshaw uses this work to do typical caroo bashing. The sex scenes between the two women were very uncomfortable to read. Ccarry, months or years elapse between chapters.
