When this understanding is lost in a society, oppressive laws are passed that assume the inherent goodness or neutrality of man supposing that a better society can be achieved through better law. Unfortunately, such a view is self-destructive, as it is the law that provides the limits upon human depravity, and teaches the standard of righteousness by which men may flourish together.

My own view of this book and others like it, and the uses to which I put these books to, is a sharpening of my own logic rusbdoony rhetoric concerning God’s laws.
