My first thought was that this was probably the most depressing book to start the year with. He knows how to convey subtle yet poignant humor, and large messages through deceptively simple stories — particularly relating to greed and corruption. Pinto throughout the book. I didn’t know anything about Mumbai before I read this. The prose is like the icing on the cake.
