Oliver Wilson-Nunn rated it liked it Sep 09, Published September 5th first published And it’s true, I often faza find more satisfaction in the books that, while they are clearly aocides in a place in Latin America, whether it be a city, a rural community or the jungle, don’t bash you over the head with the names of all the local species of flora and fauna, and descriptions of all the unique characteristics of the people and their customs. Different events seemed to pop up only so that the author could document weddings, funerals and other community events, and while I enjoyed it for the most part, I found myself wishing that the story would shift back to the inevitable series of events leading up to the confrontation between oppressors and oppressed.
